You know you need to talk to college coaches, but you're just not sure what to say.
Here is my favorite intro script and line:
The line, “…not sure if you might be looking for a K/P or not, but…,” gives the coach an out. They really might not be looking and therefore feel less pressured to answer you.
Paradoxically, it is when people we are requesting something off feel least threatened to give you an answer that they are most likely to.
It works on, well, just about anything: asking someone out, request from the boss, or negotiating curfew with skeptical parents.
