Coach, are you going to offer me a spot?
Coach, am I just a guy, or are you interested in me being THE guy?
Coach, I saw you offered another kid, is it time for me to move on?
Coach, when is camp, we’d love to come?
Coach, should we bother coming out to camp if you won’t get on a call?
Coach, if I’m not your guy, no problem, we’d just like a little closure as a family so we can move onto a better opportunity.
None of these questions are wrong.
But, you’re somehow not supposed to ask them.
But why not? It’s your journey.
Ask.
A coach can always (and often does) say either no or nothing.
And, those too, are, in a way, the answers you were after in the first place.
